Four corner schools along with Oregon and Washington are in talks with the B12.

This is real life, not make believe. You cannot just drop members and make a new conference up.

Wait, if Washington/Oregon are involved in this too, does that mean they believe Stanford/Cal are close to getting in the B1G?

He didn’t even read the article, basically it said the B12 is in talks with Arizona, Arizona State, Utah, Colorado, and also Oregon and Washington. At no point was it talking about a merger or leaving Cincy and UCF. It also didn’t mention WSU and OSU at all.

Nope. If Stanford, Oregon and Washington are off the board, no way does the PAC break up the Big 12 and no way that Washington State or Oregon State join the Big 12.

Oklahoma State
Baylor
TCU
Texas Tech

West Virgina
Cincinnati
UCF
Houston

Colorado
Iowa State
Kansas State
Kansas

Utah
Arizona State
Arizona
BYU

Maybe.....but why Cal??? If they love their academics....wonderful. Harvard has a better athletic program than Cal with better academics and they are a lot closer.

Cal is an option. I can't imagine the tv money is enough that Harvard would consider leaving the ivy league.

The article did say a merger was not off the table.

If all six go to the Big 12:

Washington, Oregon, Utah, BYU, Arizona, Arizona State
Texas Tech, TCU, Houston, Baylor, Colorado, Oklahoma State
Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State, UCF, Cincinnati, West Virginia

That probably means one permanent rival and 8 rotating for scheduling purposes. Other than who draws short straw for Iowa State it works pretty well. Sixteen teams would certainly be cleaner.

Washington and Oregon are keeping all options open. Surprising that Stanford and California aren't doing the same.
